The Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court has mandated the detention of Comfort Olajumoke Olalere Tinubu, a 33-year-old woman, at the Agodi Correctional Facility in Ibadan, following her arrest for the mu*der of her husband, Oluwasegun Tinubu, 39.
The police have lodged a mu*der charge against Olalere.
Prosecutor Cpl. Akeem Akinloye presented the case to the court, detailing the incident where Olalere allegedly stabbed her husband, Oluwasegun Tinubu, 39, during a dispute at their residence in Zone 5, Gbelu, Iyana – Agbala, Ibadan, at 9:00 p.m. on October 30, 2024.
He argued that this act violated Section 316 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000, and is punishable under Section 319.
Chief Magistrate Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi, after considering the defendant’s plea for lack of jurisdiction, has ordered her remanded for legal consultation with the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The case has been adjourned to March 5, 2025, for further proceedings.
