Tinubu returns to Nigeria from South Africa
President Bola Tinubu has made his way back to Nigeria after attending the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) in South Africa, where he co-chaired the event with President Cyril Ramaphosa.
He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 9:10 PM, greeted by notable figures including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
Also present were the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Peter Opara.
The BNC session involved discussions across eight working groups, each dedicated to key areas of shared interest, such as political consultations, consular and migration issues, banking and finance, defense and security, manufacturing, social sectors, mines and energy, as well as trade and investments.
During this high-level meeting, representatives from both nations signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding and agreements. The Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission was founded in 1999 to enhance the bonds of friendship and collaboration between the two countries.
