‘There is nothing ‘mid’ about my existence’, Joeboy tells critics
Nigerian artist Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa-Donus, widely recognized as Joeboy, has responded to critics of his music.
Recently, Joeboy has faced significant backlash on social media, with some detractors labeling his work as “mid.”
In a recent appearance on the ‘Backstage Banter’ podcast, Joeboy firmly stated that he does not consider himself to be “mid” in any way.
He suggested that many of his critics are simply projecting their own dissatisfaction with life onto him, leading to their negative remarks.
He stated: “There is nothing ‘mid’ about my existence. The fact that I have been able to get so far at such a young age in my career and still have my head on my shoulders is not ‘mid’ in any way.
“I also feel like the people criticizing me are generally not happy with life. Because if you’re genuinely happy with your life, you would not pick up your phone and start attacking somebody. What exactly is ‘mid’? I think it was just a word that got too popular, and people just started using it,” he said.
