Terr0rism, banditry and kidn@pping will soon be history in North – Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping in Nigeria, promising that these issues will soon be a thing of the past.
Speaking at the 9th convocation ceremony of the Federal University in Dutsinma, Katsina, President Tinubu stressed his determination to confront insecurity head-on.
He further emphasized that addressing insecurity is a collective responsibility, urging citizens to play their part by sharing crucial information with security forces. Tinubu was represented by Professor Abdulkarim Mohammed, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University in Dutsinma, Jigawa State, who called on Nigerians to support the government’s initiatives by reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities.
In addition, Tinubu encouraged the nation’s youth to take advantage of a loan scheme, which has seen over N70 billion disbursed, to aid their educational and entrepreneurial pursuits. He reiterated that governance is a collective effort, stating, “Governance is not about the presidency or those in places of leadership but about Nigeria and Nigerians, who will make the country better.”
During the ceremony, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsinma, Professor Armaya’u Bichi, highlighted the institution’s primary challenge, noting that insecurity has been a persistent issue affecting the university. The university graduated 297 postgraduate students, including 18 Ph.D. holders, 226 Master’s degree recipients, and 53 with professional diplomas.
Representing Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State, Secretary to the State Government Abdullahi Garba Faskari outlined the state’s efforts to improve access to quality education, noting significant investments are being made to enhance the educational landscape.
