Taraba govt begins digital land management system
The Director General of the Taraba State Geographic Information Service (TAGIS), Maaku Joshua, has affirmed that the transition from analogue to digital templates for record-keeping and property management aligns with best global practices.
Speaking in Jalingo on Friday during a capacity-building session on the digital processing of land titling and enhancing workforce efficiency and effectiveness, Joshua highlighted that this initiative was aimed at updating the participants’ knowledge to adopt a digital record-keeping approach.
He emphasized that TAGIS has staff stationed at all area offices across the sixteen local government areas of the state, who will provide a background on the exercise, including an evaluation of the processes involved.
The DG encouraged all agencies collaborating with TAGIS to support the state Governor Agbu Kefas’ efforts to secure the records of the people.
However, he also reassured the Tarabans that the government will approach tax matters with a human touch, ensuring that the process is fair and transparent, thereby alleviating any concerns.
