Prince Al-Waleed, the great-grandson of Saudi Arabia’s founding monarch, King Abdulaziz, has reached the remarkable age of 36 after spending nearly two decades in a coma.
Known as the “Sleeping Prince,” Al-Waleed has been unconscious since 2005 following a traumatic car accident while studying at a military college in London.
Despite the passing of 20 years and the grim outlook from medical experts, who have long stated that the chances of a full recovery are slim, Al-Waleed’s family has never wavered in their hope. His father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, remains resolute in his belief that divine intervention could still change his son’s fate. He has often expressed that, had it been God’s will for Al-Waleed to pass, he would have done so at the time of the accident.
Over the years, there have been occasional signs of responsiveness, such as slight movements or changes in his condition, sparking brief moments of optimism. However, no substantial recovery has been reported. Still, his family’s commitment to maintaining life-sustaining care reflects their deep faith in the possibility of a miracle.
Al-Waleed’s situation has inspired millions across the world, drawing prayers and well-wishes from countless people. His story is not just one of a personal tragedy, but of enduring hope and the belief that, even in the most challenging circumstances, anything is possible.
For those who love him, Prince Al-Waleed is more than just a figure of tragedy; he is a symbol of patience, faith, and the endless potential for life, no matter the odds.
