The Police Command in Borno State has re-arrested Kyari Kur, also known as Henry, who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Maiduguri.
Kur, also known as Henry, escaped from the facility in September after part of the perimeter fence collapsed due to a major flood incident.
ASP Nahum Daso, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Borno command, announced that Kur was captured on Thursday following credible intelligence received by police at the Gubio Divisional Headquarters regarding his whereabouts.
In a statement released on Friday, Daso announced that the police acted promptly and apprehended the individual in Gubio town.
“The Police Command in Borno State, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Mohammed Lawal-Yusufu, confirmed that the convict has been profiled and would be handed back to the Nigeria Correctional Service for further action.
“The Police remain committed to ensuring public safety and justice.
“We appreciate the public’s cooperation and urge them to continue providing timely information,” ASP Daso stated.
