Police arrests five suspected kidn*ppers, spiritualist in Kaduna
The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully detained at least five suspected kidnappers, a notorious vehicle thief, and a spiritualist.
According to the command, they also managed to recover a stolen Toyota Hilux vehicle along with other stolen goods from these individuals.
ASP Mansir Hassan, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, made these revelations in a statement on Tuesday.
He explained that the operation led to the arrest of three individuals accused of kidnapping: Umar Haruna, Shuaibu Umar, and Hairatu Muntari, also known as Talatu. The operation was prompted by concerns over Umar Haruna, a suspected gang leader who had evaded capture.
Further investigation uncovered that the ransom from previous kidnappings was used to purchase a significant amount of maize, which was subsequently recovered as evidence.
Additionally, the spokesperson shared that on October 31, a family from Agaji village reported their 3-year-old daughter’s disappearance, with no trace found.
“He said the following day, he received a call from an unknown individual demanding a ransom of N2m for her safe return.
“The ransom was paid, after which the child was released.
“Upon receiving the report, on November 3, detectives from the Saminaka Division immediately launched an investigation.
”Through diligent tracking and intelligence gathering, the officers apprehended the suspect, identified as Isa Sa’adu, of Agaji village, on November 8.”
During the interrogation, Sa’adu confessed to the kidnapping, leading to the recovery of several exhibits, including a Gionee mobile phone worth N400,000, a Boxer motorcycle, a bicycle, and a bag of rice.
