Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has made the decision to remove five members from his cabinet.
Although no specific reasons were provided for their dismissal, insiders indicate that it may be related to a lack of performance over the past year.
In an official announcement, the Secretary to the State Government, Architect Samuel Jatau, confirmed this change.
The commissioners who were let go, along with their respective ministries, include Chrysanthus Dawam, who oversaw Budget and Economic Planning; Noel Nkup, in charge of Youth and Sports; and Jamila Tukur, responsible for Tourism and Hospitality. Additionally, Obed Goselle, who managed Science and Technology, and Sule Musa, who handled Commerce and Industry, were also affected.
Both Dawam and Tukur had previously been suspended for three months last year for reasons that were not disclosed.
In a related move, the governor has appointed Sunday Alex from Bassa Local Government Area, Joyce Ramnap from Langtang South, Sylvanus Dongtoe from Shendam, Nicholas Baamlong from Qua’an Pam, and Cornelius Doeyok from Qua’an Local Government Area to take on the role of Commissioners.
The former commissioners were thanked for their service and wished well in their future pursuits.
