Photos: Kris Jenner marks late sister Karen’s birthday with throwback photo eight months following her demise
Kris Jenner marked her late sister Karen’s 66th birthday with a nostalgic photo and heartfelt tribute, a little over eight months after her passing.
The celebrity mom of 72 shared a picture of the younger Karen, now known as Mary Jo ‘MJ’ Campbell, with her mother Mary Jo ‘MJ’ Campbell.
‘Happy heavenly birthday to my beautiful sister Karen. Such a sweet spirit and kindness soul. You hold this enormous place in my heart and I miss you and love you beyond measure,’ her caption read.
It’s evident that the two sisters look strikingly similar, even though their individual lives have taken divergent paths, leading to moments of strained relations.
Karen was Kris’ only sister, with the pair growing up in San Diego and raised predominately by their mom MJ, 90, after her divorce from the pair’s father Robert Houghton.
Karen passed away in March, with the coroner’s report revealing her cause of death as cardiac arrest and a sudden heart rhythm problem.
Her death certificate also noted that she had Type 2 diabetes as an underlying condition and bipolar disorder.
At the time of Karen’s passing, Kris took to her Instagram to share snaps with her beloved sister and wrote: ‘It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly.
‘My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time.
‘Karen was beautiful inside and out. She was the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny.
‘She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter.
‘She holds such a huge part of my heart and I cherish every single memory we have together.
‘Karen’s passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised. We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister.’
