Never underestimate the power of dreams- Actor Lala reminisces how Asake, whom he used to help in OAU, invites him over to his concert at O2 Arena
Nollywood actor Muyideen Oladapo, popularly known as Lala, recently gained attention on social media for sharing his experiences after being honored with an invitation to perform at the O2 Arena by singer Asake, a musician with whom he had previously supported during his university days at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
Asake, who is signed to singer Olamide’s YBNL did his second 20k capacity show at the O2 Arena on September 21st, 2024, and as a result, invited his mother, Pocolee, Wizkid among others to his show.
One of the most talked-about moments from the event was a clip featuring singer Asake and actor Lala, which quickly went viral. Many fans and acquaintances of the duo, who were aware of their close relationship, shared stories about how Lala had been a benefactor to Asake’s music career.
During his time as a student at the OAU School of Theatre Arts, actor Lala emerged as a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry, known for his contributions. It was during this period that he facilitated the introduction of Asake, a Lagos-based artist, to the OAU community.
Lala played a pivotal role in Asake’s early career by providing him with opportunities to showcase his talent on his campus, thereby significantly enhancing his visibility at OAU. In a reciprocal gesture, Asake extended an invitation for Lala to perform at his show in the UK.
Taking to his verified Instagram page, actor Lala who is now a master’s degree holder expresses his utmost joy after Asake invited him to his 20K capacity show at the O2 Arena.
Reflecting on this experience, Lala described it as a moment of immense pride and imparted a valuable lesson to his followers, emphasizing the importance of pursuing one’s dreams and the remarkable impact of the human spirit.
