Many Nigerian pastors are called to be native doctors – Yul Edochie
Controversial Nollywood figure and self-proclaimed cleric, Yul Edochie, has asserted that numerous Nigerian pastors are meant to be native doctors.
He argues that many of these pastors have turned away from their true calling to pursue the path of native medicine, influenced by the negative perceptions propagated by Western culture and the film industry, which label native doctors as “evil.”
Edochie encouraged some Nigerian religious leaders to rethink their commitment to Christianity and explore the role of native doctors instead.
He stressed that native doctors possess a divine purpose and play a vital role in aiding humanity.
On his Instagram, Edochie expressed:
“A lot of pastors today genuinely have the calling to be native doctors, but they hesitate to embrace it because Western influences have conditioned us to see it as wrong. Nollywood has also played a part in portraying native doctors negatively.”
“Being a native doctor is a divine call from God Almighty, it means you have been chosen to help humanity.
“A true native doctor fights evil. Unless he decides to be evil. Same way a pastor can decide to be evil.
“Go and answer your call. You may never have fulfilment in your life if you don’t answer your call.”
