Man Utd compound Man City’s woes with derby defeat
Manchester United came from a goal down to defeat city rivals, Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Joško Gvardiol scored in the 36th minute to put under pressure Pep Guardiola’s side ahead but two late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo helped snatch victory from the jaws of defeat for United.
It was the fifth Premier League defeat for the struggling champions, who previously lost to Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton, and Bournemouth.
Speaking on the game, City’s Bernando Silva rued the team’s mistakes.
“We totally deserved what happened.
“At this level, if it is a game or two, then you could say they [the opponents] are being lucky or unlucky. But if it’s 10 games, it is not about that.
“If you make these stupid decisions with three to four minutes to go, then you deserve to pay for that.
“If you look at the game., my feeling was there was one team that could win that game, but in the end we lost. We have to look at ourselves,” he said.
