Katsina police arrest ward head suspected to be bandits’ informant
The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended a 45-year-old ward head, Usamatu Adamu, from Runka village in Safana Local Government Area, for allegedly supplying information to bandits.
The spokesperson for the command, Abubakar Sadiq, led the arrest of the suspect on Tuesday alongside two of his accomplices: Rabe Sada, alias BBC, aged 62, and Nasiru Sha’aibu, aged 48, both from Runka village.
Initial investigations have uncovered his alleged participation in criminal activities, including a conspiracy and the kidnapping of four individuals from Runka village in Safana Local Government Area, Katsina State.
The suspect, who is currently residing in Sabon Gida village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was located and arrested on October 3rd, 2024, following credible intelligence.
According to the Police Public Relations Office, the arrest of the suspect, who is also a ward head, was the result of a thorough investigation that linked him to several kidnapping incidents in Runka village, Safana Local Government Area, Katsina State.
As the investigation is still ongoing, the suspect had during interrogation confessed to the commission of the offence and further mentioned the following as his accomplices: one Rabe Sada, alias BBC, age 62, and one Nasiru Sha’aibu, age 48, all of Runka village, in giving information to one Umar, a notorious suspected armed bandits kingpin hibernating in Runka forest, Safana LGA, Katsina State.
