Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have both been suspended by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) following their highly-anticipated fight.
The bout took place in a record-breaking event on Friday night, November 15, last week, in front of an impressive 70,000 fans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Paul emerged victorious in a unanimous decision after an eight-round fight that went the distance.
Paul’s win marks his 11th professional boxing victory, effectively ending Tyson’s first fight since a 2005 defeat to Kevin McBride.

According to the regulations followed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), they have been issued a minimum suspension period.
Both fighters are required to serve a suspension of 24 days. The rules specify that fighters must rest for three days following each round, and they have indeed completed a full eight rounds.
However, there is the possibility of appealing the medical suspension. Fighters have the option to request a hearing to demonstrate their fitness.
The regulations from the TDLR state, “Medical disqualification of a contestant is for their own safety and may be recommended by the examining physician or TDLR. A contestant who disagrees with a medical disqualification, suspension, or rest period imposed by a ringside physician or a disqualification or suspension imposed by the department may request a hearing to show proof of fitness.”
