Injured Victor Boniface ruled out for rest of 2024
Bayer Leverkusen and Nigeria’s striker, Victor Boniface, will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a serious injury.
The 23-year-old player suffered a muscle fiber tear in his right thigh during the Super Eagles’ 2-1 home loss to Rwanda’s Amavubi in the Africa Cup of Nations on November 18, 2023, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo. Following his return from international duty, he was unable to train on Thursday.
It has now been revealed that he will not play again for the Bundesliga champions in 2025.
Last season, Boniface was sidelined for approximately three months due to an adductor injury he sustained while preparing for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite his absence, Boniface managed to score eight goals in 15 appearances for his club this season across various competitions.
