Indian actor Allu Arjun arrested after stampede de@th at film screening
Indian superstar Allu Arjun was taken into custody on Friday following a screening of his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule.
The event reportedly triggered a stampede that resulted in the tragic death of a woman and left several others injured, including her young son.
The incident unfolded on December 4 in Hyderabad, where a throng of fans had gathered outside a theater, eager to see the 42-year-old actor.

Authorities arrested Arjun on suspicion of multiple charges, including “voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means,” as stated by a police officer who requested anonymity.
In addition to Arjun, seven other individuals, including members of his security team and theater personnel, have also been detained in connection with the chaos.
Footage from broadcaster TV9 captured Arjun holding a coffee mug and conversing with police officers as they arrived at his home to make the arrest.
Later that day, he was granted interim bail for four weeks, according to reports from local media.
The stampede claimed the life of a woman in her 30s, who had been attending the screening with her son, who sustained serious injuries during the incident. The victim’s family has since lodged a formal complaint against Arjun, his security team, and the theater management, citing negligence.
Two days after the tragedy, Arjun took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his condolences, stating, “I am deeply heartbroken. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extending every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey.”
Allu Arjun is a prominent figure in Indian cinema, especially in the southern region, where he boasts a vast fan base. The Pushpa film series has been a tremendous success, raking in millions at the box office. He also received the Best Actor award at India’s National Film Awards for his performance in the first installment of the series.
