I wrote hit songs for Wizkid – Skales
Singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, better known as Skales, has claimed that he wrote a lot of hit songs for his colleague, Wizkid, during their days at Empire Mates Entertainment, EME.
In an episode of ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask,’ hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Skales shared that he co-wrote several tracks on Wizkid’s debut album, ‘Super Star,’ including the bonus track ‘Wiz Party.’
However, he also acknowledged that Wizkid contributed to his own music, mentioning that he wrote the popular song ‘Mukulu.’
He said, “Back in EME, we were a team so we used to write songs for each other. I wrote songs for Wizkid. He also wrote songs for me, too.
“He wrote ‘Mukulu’ for me and I wrote his song ‘Wiz Party.’ As I said, EME was a collective, so we did teamwork.”
Wizkid and Skales were among the first artists signed to EME by R&B star and music executive, Banky W, in the early 2010s.
The record label brought the singers to the spotlight.
Both artists eventually departed from the label following a series of disagreements with Banky W.
In an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu several years back, Banky W disclosed that Wizkid was entitled to three albums under his initial contract with the label.
