I generate 15 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity – Deji Adeleke
Father of popular singer Davido, Adedeji Adeleke, has made a bold claim that he contributes to 15% of Nigeria’s electricity production.
The billionaire businessman made the claim during his speech at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church’s General Conference Annual Council 2024 on October 15th.
“I’m in the electricity business, I own power plants. I generate about 15 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity. I’ve Chinese engineering companies that work for me. I am building the biggest thermal power plant in Nigeria to be launched in January 2025. It’s a 1250MW power plant,” he said.
Davido has also previously asserted that his family has played a significant role in distributing electricity across a major portion of Nigeria.
During an appearance on an American podcast, ‘Business Untitled,’ in April, Davido claimed that his family is the proprietors of four power plants, which have greatly contributed to meeting Nigeria’s energy requirements.
