‘I am a Chosen’ phrase n*nsensical, not Christian – Patrick Doyle
A well-known Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle has criticized the slogan “I am a Chosen” commonly used by members of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries.
The criticism comes after a wave of social media debate over the recent viral testimonies from the church.
In a Facebook post, Doyle characterized the phrase as “nonsensical,” claiming that it does not align with Christian doctrine.
“The phrase ‘I am a Chosen,’ used by members of the religious sect called ‘Chosen,’ should never be connected to the Body of Christ.
“The members of this sect don’t have Jesus in mind when chanting the phrase. Their adoration is unequivocally directed at a man, their GO. The phrase does not mention or imply Jesus in any way.
“To infer that the nonsensical phrase is connected to giving glory to the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, is to make a mockery of our faith.
“Content creators and bloggers using the phrase are not mocking the Church of God but the sect and its founder.”
Other celebrities who have responded to the trending phrase include actress Kemi Lala Akindoju and IK Ogbona, who criticized the church’s doctrine.
In response to the “I am a Chosen” phrase, CAN has condemned the viral testimony of a congregant who claimed an angel provided answers to her during an examination.
