Governor Yusuf dismisses all 44 LGA caretaker chairmen in Kano
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has ordered the termination of caretaker chairmen in all 44 local government areas in the state.
This significant announcement was made during a special meeting convened at the Africa House and Government House, Kano.
Additionally, the governor has ordered the former caretaker chairmen to transfer their positions to the Directors of Personnel Management.
The dissolution comes just a week after the Kano State House of Assembly approved a two-month extension to the tenure of the caretaker chairmen, which was billed to expire on September 8, 2024.
The governor said: “This dissolution applies to all chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries, and councillors.
“We are warning the DPMs to make sure they will not interfere in any political activities as respected civil servants.” the governor said.
He thanked the caretaker chairman for their contributions to the growth of respective localities and hinted at possible future partnerships.
