Galatasaray to make £42m bid to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen permanently’
Galatasaray, the Turkish club, is reportedly set to make a £42 million bid to secure Victor Osimhen’s permanent transfer from Napoli, aiming to make his loan deal a permanent one.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan in September after being linked with a move away from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, has already made a significant impact. Since his arrival, he has scored four goals and provided two assists in just a few starts.
Okan Buruk, the boss of Galatasaray, is reportedly determined to sign Osimhen on a permanent basis. However, financial constraints are seen as a major obstacle. Napoli has reportedly agreed to a £63 million release clause should a club from outside Serie A shows interest.
Despite these challenges, Galatasaray is said to be willing to make a bid from Osimhen once the January transfer window opens. The Turkish outlet Sozcu reports that Galatasaray is prepared to offer a club-record £42 million, aiming to outbid interest from clubs like Chelsea and PSG.
Should the deal go through, it would surpass Galatasaray’s previous record transfer expenditure for a single player, more than doubling the £15 million they paid to Norwich this summer for Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara.
The reports come just one month after Osimhen boldly declared his transfer value and stated there are few players in world football with the quality he possesses.
‘I am worth over 100 million euros.’ Osimhen told TMW.
‘There are few players in the world like me, who have reached such style and success. It all relates to my characteristics, what I do, and my quality. Therefore, I believe I deserve it.
‘I am aware of my contribution and what I can achieve, even in my private life. Do people think differently? Some say 15 million, others 100-120-150….. Everyone has their own opinion.’
