No fewer than 36 suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested at different locations of Onitsha, Anambra State.
The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), EFCC, announced the arrests of these suspects on Thursday.
The arrests took place on October 11, 2024, after receiving credible intelligence connecting them to alleged online criminal activities.
It was gathered that the suspects impersonated foreign nationals using social media platforms to defraud unsuspecting victims.
Among the items recovered from them were eight luxury vehicles and high-end brands of mobile phones and laptops.
