Nigerian artist David Adeleke, widely recognized as Davido, has discussed his present dynamics with fellow musicians Wizkid and Burna Boy.
The creator of “Fem” revealed that his personal ties with the pair have diminished over time.
Davido elaborated on how the dialogue around Afrobeats has evolved, moving past the notion that he, Wizkid, and Burna Boy constitute the “Big 3” in the genre. He pointed out that emerging talents such as Rema and Ayra Starr are also receiving considerable acclaim worldwide.
Speaking on The Breakfast Club, he said;
“I don’t have a personal relationship with them [Wizkid and Burna Boy]. I did at some point in time… The conversation is bigger than the ‘Big 3’ right now; there’s Rema, there’s Ayra Starr and other artists. Right now, I think the three of us understand that it is bigger than us.”
On his fallout with Tiwa Savage, Davido said, “Tiwa Savage is my sister for life, I love her and her child, we are family. Our fight is just like a brother and sister’s fight. I will never allow anything to happen to her.”
