Cristiano Ronaldo diagnosed with viral infection
Renowned soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been diagnosed with a viral infection.
The Saudi Professional League team, Al Nassr, has officially announced this development in a press release.
In a statement, the Saudi Professional League team disclosed that the Portuguese athlete will be unable to participate in Al Nassr’s opening match of the Asian Champions League this week at Al Shorta in Iraq.
The statement read: “Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t feeling well today and was diagnosed with a viral infection.
“The team’s doctor confirmed he needs to rest and stay at his place.
“As a result, he will not be travelling with the team to Iraq today. We wish a speedy recovery to our captain.”
Ronaldo is yet to win a major trophy with Al-Nassr since joining the Saudi club.
The Asian Champions League is the first edition of the Elite version, which replaced the AFC Champions League as Asia’s top club tournament.
