An activist and lawyer known as Deji Adeyanju, has alleged that prominent Nigerian musician Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, is responsible for the recent arrest of fellow artist Speed Darlington.
Adeyanju claims that Burna Boy is responsible for the police harassment of Speed Darlington.
Posting on X, he wrote: “Burna Boy behind the harassment of Speed Darlington by the police. This is someone who has been singing against oppression and forming junior Fela, now oppressing Akpi.”
Darlington was apprehended by the Imo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force in Owerri, the state capital of Imo.
The musician was arrested while performing at a show in Owerri, just days after his return to the country earlier this week.
The police have recently charged Darlington with cyberstalking Burna Boy.
The musician was captured in Lagos and transferred to Abuja before being detained by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team in the Guzape neighborhood.
