Boniface moves closer to contract extension at Leverkusen

Super Eagles star Victor Boniface is on the verge of finalizing a contract extension with Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.

Recent reports from Transfer News Live indicate that Leverkusen is making significant progress in extending Boniface’s contract.

Since his €21.7 million transfer from Royale Union SG last year, Boniface has made a remarkable impact at Leverkusen. Last season, he netted 21 goals and provided 10 assists, playing a crucial role in leading Leverkusen to their first-ever Bundesliga title and a spot in the Europa League final. His tally could have been even higher if not for his thigh injury earlier this year.

After such a stellar season with Die Werkself, Boniface attracted interest from several top clubs but chose to stay with Leverkusen.

This season, the 23-year-old forward has already scored seven goals and contributed one assist in 13 matches for the team.

Boniface’s current contract is set to run until the end of the 2027/28 season, and discussions are underway for an extension. Despite being sidelined due to injury, the completion of this deal is anticipated in the upcoming weeks, highlighting the value Leverkusen places on Boniface.
