Bandits slaughter four farmers in Sokoto
Bandits have carried out a brutal attack, slaughtering four farmers in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
It was reported that several others remain missing following the attack, which took place around 8am on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Maridi village.
A local resident, Surajo Isa, who has confirmed the incident to the Daily Trust, revealed that the victims were ambushed on their way to their farms.
“The bandits set up an ambush for them as they were heading to work on their lands. They killed four of them and abducted another four. There are still some missing; we’re not sure if they’ve escaped into the bush or have been kidnapped,” he explained.
“Two of the victims were buried in the morning, and we are in the process of burying the other two.”
Isa also mentioned that two community members, a father and his son, were shot by bandits last week.
“The son d!ed immediately, and the father is currently recovering at the hospital.”
The chairman of Isa Local Government Area, Alhaji Sharifu Kamarawa, has also confirmed the incident to the publication.
