AY proves comedians don’t have to be funny to be successful – Bae U

Skit maker and content influencer, Bae U Barbie, has thrown some shade at comedian and actor Ayo Makun, widely recognized as AY.

During a recent episode of his show, ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask,’ Bae U suggested that AY lacks humor, pointing out that his career illustrates that success in comedy doesn’t necessarily hinge on being funny.

Bae U introduced AY in a teaser for his upcoming show, stating; “Our guest today is a reminder that you don’t have to be funny to be a successful comedian in Nigeria.”

The clip has sparked a variety of responses since it went viral.

AY has earlier mentioned in an interview that he doesn’t consider himself one of the funniest comedians in Nigeria.
