Actress Ruth Kadiri slams producers for pressuring actors to produce 1 million views on first day of upload on YouTube
Nollywood star Ruth Kadiri has spoken out against producers who demand that actors achieve 1 million views on their YouTube videos within the first day of release.
She reassured fellow actors who are feeling the weight of these unrealistic expectations from producers regarding daily view counts for their films.
As an accomplished actress and producer herself, Ruth has successfully garnered significant views on her own YouTube content, and she took to Instagram to express her concerns.
In her post, she specifically addressed the producers who impose such pressures on their talent.
She wrote: “Dear Nollywood actors!!! Take the pressure off your shoulder!!! Any producer who requires 1 million views from you per day has failed! A good production requires more than your face.
“One million views is not a standard of success nor failure.
“So much y’all don’t know about YouTube. Don’t let their ignorance rob you of your joy.”
The mum-of-two added in the caption: “The ones who never invest in anyone are the ones with the most nonsense to say about others.”
