he Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed the arrest of 27 individuals for impersonation during the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for immediate prosecution, as part of JAMB’s ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of the examination process.
In addition to the arrests, JAMB revealed it has delisted four Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres that failed to meet its strict technical and ethical standards. The affected centres are:
Adventure Associate, Behind Sheshe Supermarket, Off Hadejia Road, Kano, Kano State.
Saadatu Rimi College of Education, Zaria Road, Naibawa, Kano, Kano State.
Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd, Centre 1, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal.
Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd, Centre 2, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal.
JAMB has emphasized that any centre found to violate its requirements, regardless of ownership, will be blacklisted. A total of 883 centres were commended for demonstrating exceptional performance during the examination.
Candidates assigned to the affected centres have been urged to reprint their examination slips immediately to receive updated details on their new exam locations and dates. JAMB stressed that no excuses would be entertained for candidates who fail to do so.
“We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but we will not entertain excuses from candidates who fail to reprint their slips,” JAMB stated.
As of Friday, April 25, 2025, more than 900,000 candidates have successfully completed their UTME out of the 2,083,600 registered nationwide. JAMB remains committed to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process.
JAMB also addressed an incident at the Caleb University CBT centre, where some candidates wearing hijabs were reportedly restricted from entering the examination venue. The board described this action as unauthorized and confirmed that it was swiftly resolved.
“This misguided action was the result of an overzealous security officer,” JAMB explained. “We extend our sincere apologies to the affected candidates and commend the leadership of both the centre and the university for their prompt intervention, which ensured that no candidate suffered undue disadvantage,” it added.
