Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is on the verge of a high-profile move to the Premier League, with Manchester United reportedly preparing to trigger the €75 million release clause in his contract.
According to Tuttosport, the Red Devils have reached an agreement in principle with Osimhen and his representatives on personal terms. The move, spearheaded by new manager Ruben Amorim, is part of United’s push to revamp their attack ahead of the new season.
The 26-year-old Super Eagles forward has been a standout performer this season, not at Napoli, but during a sensational loan spell at Galatasaray. Osimhen has scored 30 goals and provided seven assists in just 35 appearances, catching the eyes of top European clubs once again.
He was previously linked with a move to England last summer—with Chelsea and Manchester United both interested—but a deal failed to materialize, and he instead went on loan to the Turkish giants.
The potential arrival of Osimhen may prompt an attacking overhaul at Old Trafford. Reports suggest Rasmus Hojlund, who has netted just eight times in 45 matches this season, could be offered to Napoli as part of the deal or sold to make room.
