We’ll fish out k!llers of vigilante operatives in Anambra – Police vow
The Anambra State Police Command has vowed to apprehend the criminals that killed four vigilante operatives and left two others seriously injured in the state.
In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, the Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, made the vow on Monday.
Ikenga said the armed men operating in unregistered Lexus 330 SUV and Honda FJ Cruiser SUV at Ekeagu Abatete, murdered three members of the vigilantes and injured another unsuspecting member of the public.
Furthermore, Ikenga mentioned that at Ukpo Junction, Dunkunofia Local Government Area, during their escape from a high-speed pursuit by the Police Responding Team, they shot and killed another member of the vigilante group, injured another, and set two vehicles on fire.
The police have confirmed the recovery of the deceased’s bodies and are providing medical treatment to the injured.
The Police extended their sympathies to the families, friends, and community of the victims, assuring them that the police will leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of the perpetrators and in ensuring justice is served.
The statement also mentioned that further updates on the case would be provided to the public.
