Comedian AY and estranged wife, Mabel reportedly battling over second daughter custody

Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun, better known as AY, and his estranged wife, Mabel, are embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their second daughter, with reports suggesting Mabel has cut AY off from any contact with their child.

Insiders reveal that since Mabel’s departure from the marriage earlier this year, AY has faced significant challenges in communicating with their daughter.

The comedian reportedly made a deal with the family nanny, who would discreetly allow AY to speak to their daughter by phone whenever Mabel was away. However, on one occasion, Mabel unexpectedly returned and caught the nanny facilitating the call, leading to a heated confrontation. The nanny was swiftly fired and returned to her hometown.

When AY attempted to contact the nanny’s phone, he found out she had been terminated.

There are reports that AY offered her a position in his household. However, Mabel was incensed upon learning of this and allegedly vowed to prevent AY from seeing their daughter.

The conflict has escalated to such a point that insiders claim friends and family members have been unable to mediate between the couple. The relationship, which ended in 2024 after 15 years of marriage and 20 years of friendship, has been marred by allegations of infidelity, accusations of sexually transmitted infections, and rumors of new relationships.

The custody dispute is now set to be heard by a judge, who will decide on AY’s visitation rights and possibly establish a co-parenting agreement.

Sources close to the couple say the tension has reached an “unbelievable height” and believe only a court ruling or divine intervention can bring about a resolution.
