Miss SA, Mia le Roux pulls out from Miss Universe competition over health concerns
Miss South Africa 2024 winner, Mia le Roux, has pulled out of the ongoing Miss Universe competition.
According to reports, the finale of the global contest is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, in Mexico.
In a statement released on Friday morning, the Miss South Africa organizations cited health concerns as the reason for Le Roux’s decision.
“I am profoundly thankful for the unwavering support from SA during my time at Miss Universe. Making this decision has been incredibly challenging, knowing the dreams and hopes that have been placed on me.
“However, I’m deeply grateful to have the opportunity to focus on my health and recovery so I may continue to serve my country with full strength.”
Le Roux, who made history as the first deaf contestant, was among the 120 beauty queens competing for the Miss Universe crown.
