Slum children should have better school facilities, the NACAT head said, challenging affluent Nigerians
The co-founder of the Network Against Corruption and Trafficking (NACAT), Fejiro Oliver Samson, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to consider elevating the educational standards for underprivileged and special-needs children within society.
He urged well-intentioned Nigerians to look within the slums, identify dilapidated schools that have been abandoned, and transform them into vibrant learning environments.
Fejiro, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Excella B Group, made this call in Lugbe, Abuja.
He emphasized the importance of improving educational standards for underprivileged and special-needs children within the community.
Speaking, Fejiro highlighted the transformative power of education, stating, “The only way for a child to succeed is through education, and it starts with a conducive environment.”
He further added that individuals in privileged positions should provide children in disadvantaged areas with the same quality of educational infrastructure as those studying abroad.
“There’s no way a child can succeed without education. The mandate is simple. Look for the best schools in Europe and America. The schools I’ll be proud of for my kids to attend. That they can sit and learn without any hindrance, without any challenge.
“Go to the slumps, pick out one of such schools and refurbish it. Every well-meaning Nigeria, go to the slums, not the city and renovate it. It will be a challenge to everyone that has the means.”
