Maya Henry, Liam Payne’s ex, claimed that he would frequently foretell his de@th as a manipulation strategy
Maya Henry, the ex-fiancée of Liam Payne, shared intimate details about the singer’s final days, including his discussions about his impending de@th, just days before his tragic passing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the age of 31.
As an influencer and the ex-partner of the One Direction member from 2018 to 2022, Maya candidly opened up about Payne’s struggles with mental health and the alleged abuse she endured during their relationship. In an episode of “The Internet Is Dead” podcast, which was released on Monday, October 14, two days before Payne’s de@th, Maya revealed the extent of his preoccupation with mortality and his constant expressions of despair.
“He would always message me ever since we broke up [saying], ‘Oh, I’m not well,’” she alleged.
“He would always play with death and be like, ‘Well, I’m going to die. I’m not doing well.’”
Maya Henry, 23, described Payne’s messages as a manipulative tactic aimed at making her feel guilty for not being with him, despite the fact that they were not together.
“There was one time I tried to get him help and then he was not taking it,” she continued.
“He would text my mom, ‘I’m not doing well, have Maya contact me,’ because I wouldn’t respond.”
“It’s just always the same cycle.”
Payne passed away on Wednesday, October 16, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after falling from the third floor of a hotel. He was 31.
The cause of death was not immediately disclosed, but authorities mentioned that the “Strip That Down” singer might have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol before jumping from his room balcony, resulting in “extremely serious” and ultimately de@th.
