US boxer Mylik Birdsong m*rdered in LA drive-by shooting
American professional boxer Mylik Birdsong has been sh0t and k*lled in a drive-by shooting in the Gramercy Park neighborhood, South Los Angeles.
The incident took place at 4:50 p.m. on Sunday in the 1600 block of West 87th Street at Denker Avenue, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to police reports, Birdsong was outside a residence when two suspects arrived in a car and opened fire on him. After firing, the suspects exited the vehicle and pursued Birdsong, continuing to shoot until he was fatally injured.
Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he died. No description was available of the suspects or vehicle.
The reason behind the shooting remains a mystery.
The victim’s identity was withheld by authorities, but TMZ was able to confirm that the individual was a 31-year-old professional boxer, set to compete in the ring on October 26.
Birdsong boasted a 15-1-1 record in boxing, with 10 knockouts to his name before his untimely de*th.
In his final bout, he claimed the vacant World Boxing Foundation international welterweight championship on March 23, winning a unanimous eight-round decision against Jerry Bradford at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower.
