EFCC arrests three suspected vote buyers in Edo
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have apprehended at least three suspected vote buyers amidst the current governorship election in Edo State.
Channels TV reports that the suspects were captured in the Egor Local Government Area of the state around 10:00 am on Saturday.
EFCC officials departed the scene with three suspects: two males and one female.
However, some residents opposed the arrest, arguing that the suspects were being unfairly targeted.
Before the election, the commission had previously cautioned political parties against engaging in vote buying.
